Start a Brand New Story
So yeah, my Tumblr account got hacked.
Last week I woke up to find my Tumblr account hijacked and converted into a phishing operation. I could have just reset the password and removed all of the garbage that was added, but I decided to err on the side of caution. I made a backup of all my old posts, and then I pulled the plug. I sincerely hope that nobody ventured over to my site and got fooled by the phishing page that had been put into place. You’re all smart people, so I trust you all made it out okay (or you just didn’t visit the page, because you were too busy doing real work).
I don’t know how to restore my backups (or if it’s even possible), but I’m not super concerned about it at this point. Hell, this is probably a good opportunity to start fresh. I’ve been meaning to experiment with a new way of writing. Specifically, I want to do more list-based posts. They’re a little more challenging to put together, but they’re easier to read and easier to skim. Besides, I like a good challenge, and I feel like I need to challenge myself if I want to grow as a writer.
I’m going to manually restore some of the old posts that I’m particularly proud of, but apart from that, it’s a clean slate. To those of you who are reading this, I hope you find my personal brain dump to be mildly entertaining.
P.S. I’m going to try cutting back on the profanity as well. No promises though ;) .
